Oral Health Program
The Louisiana Oral Health Program is part of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospital's Office of Public Health, Preventive Health Center.
The Louisiana Oral Health Program serves to promote the importance of good oral health through education, community outreach, and addressing barriers in Louisiana that prevent our citizens from achieving optimal oral health. Focus areas of the Louisiana Oral Health Program are community water fluoridation, school-based dental sealant application for 2nd and 6th grade students, and expanded dental services for pregnant women through Medicaid (Medicaid- EDSPW). The program is also responsible for oral health surveillance data.
