For Long-Term Care

Medicaid administers several programs that provide various specialized health care coverage services for elderly residents or people with developmental disabilities who need long-term care.

I have a medical condition and need assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Long-Term Care Services, which Medicaid offers to qualified individuals either in a facility or in their homes. Learn more.

 

I receive Medicare, but I need help paying my premiums and other expenses.  
  • Medicare Savings Program, in which Louisiana Medicaid will pay Medicare premiums and related expenses for senior citizens who meet certain qualifications. Learn more.

I am a senior citizen, and I want to know about my health care options.   
  • Seniors Health Insurance Program (SHIP), which the Louisiana Department of Insurance runs through a grant from the Health Care Financing Administration to offer health insurance counseling and information to senior citizens. Learn more.
