WHAT:                

Guest speakers in recovery from substance use speak out to raise awareness during National Recovery Month.

The Louisiana Department of Health Office of Behavioral Health will observe National Recovery Month with a lunch and learn featuring individuals who have gone through recovery as speakers.

This year's theme, "Join the Voices for Recovery: Our Families, Our Stories, Our Recovery," highlights the value of peer support by educating, mentoring, and helping others. 

Special Guest Speakers

Dr. Rochelle Head-Dunham, Metropolitan Human Services District Executive Director and Medical Director will speak about combating the opioid epidemic and coping with recovery during a disaster. 

Candace Blood and Cayce Badeaux-McDaniel will share their stories on how they overcame their battles with addiction and their road to recovery, “It’s Possible not only to Recover but also be Successful.”
