The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) Office of Public Health (OPH) has created this Pandemic Influenza Guidance as a comprehensive containment and treatment plan to assist in the control of an outbreak of a novel influenza virus, such as the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus (¨Dswine flu¡¬) or avian influenza. DHH OPH has followed, and will continue to follow, the international and national recommendations for identification, prophylaxis, and treatment of disease as well as considered the frameworks provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for pandemic planning purposes and those recommended by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
