Nurse Aide Training Programs

Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Programs (NATP or NATCEP)

Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Programs (NATP or NATCEP) are responsible for the training of individuals employed in long term care facilities (nursing homes) or hospital-based skilled nursing facilities (SNF units).  The NATP/NATCEP certifies the individual to the Louisiana Nurse Aide Registry once the minimum federal and state training requirements have been met.

Any person or entity that wants to offer a NATP/NATCEP must receive approval from the LDH-HSS.

The LDH-HSS (Health Standards Section) reviews and approves or disapproves nurse aide training and competency evaluation programs (NATP/NATCEP) for the state of Louisiana.
